Adventure Tour of Hengduan Mountains in Western Sichuan and Eastern Tibet

The Sichuan-Tibet Highway, a world-famous natural barrier road stretching from east to west, is also an ideal route for travelling. Following the highway, we start in Chengdu via Luding county on the eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau to Kangding, Dawu, Luhuo, Ganze, Dege, Jomda, Qamdo in the Hengduan mountain area. Head south to Bamda and then fly back to Chengdu.

This segment of the highway, with a length of more than 1600 km, will pass through more than ten famous giant mountains such as Erlang, Zheduo, Chola and Luoguoliangzi 4500 meters above sea level, and cross several boundless stretch of grasslands such as Xinduqiao, Lhakang, Manigango and Bamda as well as a number of rushing rivers including Jinsha, Lancang and Nujiang. Along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, visitors will enjoy fascinating sights, and explore the natural wonders, cultures and much more in western Sichuan and eastern Tibet.    Sightseeing of "rainy city"-Ya'an and visit Jinfeng temple.

Day3.   Ya'an/Kangding ( paved-road,223km)                         Great Wall hotel

   Sightseeing of Mt.Erlang, Mt.Minya Gongar, visit Nanwu temple, taking hot-spring shower;

Day 4.   Kangding/Drango ( paved-road,284km)                      Drango hotel

  Crossing over Mt.Tseto(4216m), visit Lhagang Monastery.

Day 5.   Drango/Kanze (paved-road,96km)                             Kampa hotel

   Sightseeing of "Shangri-La" Visit Ganze Monastery;

Day 6.   Kanze/Derge (dirt road,206km)                                Guesthouse

   Visit Dakin Monastery, cross Mt. Que'r(bird) and sightseeing of Derge vally;

     Sightseeings of Jinsha river and Gangba Valley on the way;

    Crossing over the Large Lama mountain then reaching into Chamdo.

Day 10.   Chamdo/Bangda (dirt road, 120km)                       Airport Hotel

   Visit Jampaling monastery and sightseeing of Bangda grassland;

Day 11.   Bangda / Chengdu by air.
